The short version
Parallax is provided by Hecano LLC. This policy covers the Parallax iPhone app, its companion Apple Watch app and widgets, this website, and support communications.
Your health history is analyzed on your device. Parallax does not require an account. We do not sell your personal or health data, use it for advertising, or add advertising or behavioral analytics SDKs to the app.
The current beta uses on-device briefings. It does not send your health data to an AI provider. Optional AI-written briefings are not enabled in this version.
Data you choose to share
With your permission, Parallax reads supported data from Apple Health to build personal baselines, calculate wellness estimates, show trends, and support personal experiments. Depending on your permissions and the data available, this includes:
- Heart rate, resting heart rate, heart rate variability (HRV), breathing rate, blood oxygen, and wrist temperature.
- Sleep, workouts, steps, exercise, standing, active and resting energy, and estimated aerobic fitness (VO₂ max).
- Time in daylight, logged moods, and cycle-tracking information.
- Weight, nutrition and energy intake, blood glucose, and blood pressure when available.
- Date of birth and biological sex, used for relevant age-based estimates and optional fitness-age context.
Parallax also stores the information you enter: tags, notes, morning check-ins, experiment records, optional weight goals, preferences, and permissions. Health-related inferences and scores are sensitive information too; they receive the same local handling as the data used to calculate them.
You choose which Health categories to allow. Parallax reads from Apple Health; it does not write health readings to Apple Health. Declining access may leave some features without enough data to show a result.
Storage, retention, and your devices
Your imported readings, entries, and calculated history are stored in a local database on your iPhone. The app uses iOS data protection, and your device passcode is an important part of protecting stored information.
Parallax does not sync this database to iCloud. The database and widget summary files are excluded from device backups. A restore or move to a new phone may therefore lose your tags, check-ins, experiments, and app settings. Available Apple Health data can be read again after you grant permission.
Widgets read a summary prepared by the app. A derived summary, such as readiness and experiment prompts, can be sent to your paired Apple Watch through Apple’s device connectivity services. The watch stores its own copy for its app and complications.
Data can remain locally while the app is installed. Revoking Health access stops future reads but does not by itself delete previously imported copies. No health-history database is held by Hecano for the current beta.
Website visits and support messages
This website does not request access to Apple Health, run advertising trackers, use analytics scripts, or place application cookies. Fonts and images are served with the site.
Cloudflare necessarily processes connection information such as your IP address, requested URL, browser information, and request time to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. Its processing and retention are described in Cloudflare’s privacy policy. We have not added a separate visitor tracking service.
If you email support@hecano.com, we receive your email address, message, and any attachments you send. We use these to answer your request and resolve problems. Please avoid sending health records or screenshots containing personal readings unless they are necessary for your request.
The app’s optional “Copy diagnostics” feature creates a report containing counts, timings, app and operating-system versions, and device model. It is not sent automatically. It excludes health values, reading dates, and source-device names.
We retain support correspondence only as long as needed to handle your request, maintain relevant support records, or meet applicable legal obligations. You can request deletion by email; records that need to be retained for legal or security reasons may be excepted.
Your choices and deletion
- Manage Health permission: open Apple Health, choose your profile, then Apps or Apps and Services, and select Parallax. You can change access for individual data types.
- Remove local app data: delete Parallax from your iPhone. Deleting the app is different from offloading it, which keeps app data. Remove its companion watch app as well to remove its separately stored summary. Shared widget data may remain until all associated components are removed.
- Keep Apple Health in your control: deleting Parallax does not delete the original readings in Apple Health. Manage those separately in the Health app.
- Delete saved daily scores: the app’s settings include a control to delete saved daily scores. This does not erase all imported readings or every other app entry.
- Contact us: request access, correction, deletion, or information about data held through support by emailing support@hecano.com.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights to access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of your personal information, withdraw consent, object to or restrict processing, appeal a request decision, or complain to a privacy authority. We will handle requests under the law that applies to you and may need to verify your identity. We do not need your health history to verify a support request.
The app has no Parallax account to close. We cannot remotely read, recover, or erase a database that exists only on your device.
Children and international visitors
Parallax is designed for adults and is not directed to children. If you believe a child has sent personal information to our support team, contact us so we can address it.
Website and support services may process information in countries other than your own, including the United States. Applicable protections and service-provider terms govern that processing. The current app’s local health analysis does not require an international transfer of your health history.
Updates and contact
We may update this policy when our features or practices change. The effective date appears at the top of this page. Material changes involving health-data sharing will be explained before the new processing begins, with consent obtained where required.
